Scott Reilly stands as a prominent figure in mezzanine and structured equity investing, boasting a career spanning over three decades and participation in more than 200 successful investments. His journey includes co-founding Northstar Capital, Ltd., and contributing to the growth of Churchill Capital, Inc., before establishing Peninsula Capital Partners. It is his entrepreneurial vision and leadership at Peninsula Capital Partners that have garnered significant recognition, including being named Ernst & Young’s Financial Services Entrepreneur of the Year for Michigan in 2000 and receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Association of Corporate Growth of Michigan in 2016.
Throughout his extensive career, Mr. Reilly has directed over $2 billion in mezzanine and structured equity capital across diverse industries and transaction types. These include leveraged buyouts, independent sponsor deals, recapitalizations, buy-and-build strategies, growth financings, and equity repurchases. He is particularly recognized for pioneering Peninsula Capital Partners‘ distinctive investment program. This program, centered on providing mezzanine capital to non-sponsored and independently-sponsored transactions, has become a defining characteristic of the firm and a cornerstone of its achievements within the competitive financial landscape. Mr. Reilly’s foundation in finance was laid in the corporate finance group of Security Pacific Merchant Bank, where he completed the bank’s rigorous credit and capital markets training program.
Academically, Mr. Reilly holds a BBA in Economics Summa Cum Laude from the University of North Dakota, where he also earned Beta Gamma Sigma recognition, and an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. He is also a member of the CFA Institute, further underscoring his expertise and commitment to the financial industry.
