Robert Bamba, MD
Dr. Robert Bamba is a board-certified pediatrician with extensive experience in caring for children of all ages. He earned his medical degree from Mindanao State University in the Philippines and completed his pediatric training at Children’s and Women’s Hospital with the University of South Alabama. Before joining San Juan Health Partners Pediatrics in 2010, Dr. Bamba shared his knowledge as a clinical instructor at Kingstown Medical College. His affiliations include prestigious medical organizations such as the American Academy of Pediatrics and multiple medical associations across different regions, highlighting his commitment to global healthcare standards.
David Hernandez, MD
Dr. David Hernandez is a home-grown talent who completed the accelerated BA/MD program at the University of New Mexico. Graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Biology degree and as a UNM Presidential Scholar, Dr. Hernandez continued his medical education at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine and specialized in pediatrics at Seattle Children’s Hospital/University of Washington. Dr. Hernandez is board certified and uniquely positioned to connect with the community, stating, “I grew up in rural New Mexico and recognize how important it is to have a doctor who not only remembers you as a patient but respects you as a valued member of the community.” He is also fluent in Spanish, enhancing our ability to serve a diverse patient population.
Brittnay Kimbell, MD FAAP
Dr. Brittnay Kimbell is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP) and brings a passion for education to her practice at San Juan Health Partners Pediatrics. A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, Dr. Kimbell completed her residency and served as faculty at the University of New Mexico’s Department of Pediatrics. Her dedication to teaching excellence was recognized with awards for Outstanding Education in Outpatient Clinic and Teaching Excellence, reflecting her commitment to both patient care and medical education.
Dr. Brenda James MD, Pediatrician at San Juan Health Partners Pediatrics
Brenda James, MD
Dr. Brenda James has been serving the pediatric patients of San Juan Regional Medical Center since 2003. She received her medical degree from the renowned Stanford University School of Medicine and completed her pediatric residency at the University of New Mexico Hospital. Dr. James’s long-term commitment to the community is evident in her words: “It is an honor and a privilege to serve pediatric patients, their families and my community. I am pleased to see my patients grow into strong independent adults.” Her dedication and experience are invaluable to San Juan Health Partners Pediatrics.
Brad J. Scoggins, DO, FAAP
Dr. Brad J. Scoggins, a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, offers a holistic approach to pediatric care. With a background in forensic science from Baylor University and osteopathic medicine from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Scoggins completed his pediatric residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. His unique background includes pre-hospital emergency medicine and paramedical field work, providing a well-rounded perspective on children’s health. Dr. Scoggins emphasizes a partnership with parents, stating, “Being a parent is hard! I chose to be a pediatrician in order to partner with parents to make the best choices for their children.”
Erin Tinker, DNP
Erin Tinker is a Doctor of Nursing Practice who brings extensive experience in critical care to her role as a Family Nurse Practitioner at San Juan Health Partners Pediatrics. She holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Nursing from Eastern New Mexico University and a Post-Master’s Certificate from Graceland University. Her background as a Registered Nurse in Critical Care at San Juan Regional Medical Center since 2007, along with her role as Clinical Educator and Adjunct Instructor for San Juan College’s Nursing Program, demonstrates her deep commitment to both patient care and nursing education.
Jonathan Palmer, FNP-C, PMHS
Jonathan Palmer is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and a certified Pediatric Mental Health Specialist (PMHS), offering a unique combination of skills to San Juan Health Partners Pediatrics. With degrees from the University of New Mexico and the University of Arizona, and a Master of Science in Nursing from Northern Arizona University, Jonathan is deeply rooted in the region. Fluent in Spanish, he is passionate about serving the Spanish-speaking community and has served on the NM State Board of Nursing since 2015. Jonathan’s dedication is clear: “I love taking care of children and families and supporting our wonderful community.”
Jessica Ann Conklin, FNP-C, PMHS
Jessica Ann Conklin, a Farmington native, is a Family Nurse Practitioner and Pediatric Mental Health Specialist. She graduated with honors from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and earned her Master’s degree from Graceland University. Jessica’s local roots and advanced training enhance her ability to provide compassionate and comprehensive care to families in the area.
Katie McCrea, CPNP-PC, IBCLC, PMHS
Katie McCrea is a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Primary Care (CPNP-PC), an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), and a Pediatric Mental Health Specialist. With degrees from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Grand Canyon University, and the University of Colorado, Denver, Katie brings a wealth of knowledge in pediatric nursing and lactation support. Her previous experience in Durango, Colorado, and her philosophy, “I love pediatrics because it gives me the opportunity not only to work with children but to also work with families,” make her a valuable asset to our team.
Meredith Justice, CPNP-PC, PMHS
Meredith Justice is a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Primary Care, and Pediatric Mental Health Specialist. She holds Bachelor of Science degrees from Gordon College and Duke University School of Nursing, and a Master of Science in Nursing from Duke University. Her experience in the Pediatric Progressive Care Unit at Duke University Medical Center enriches her practice at San Juan Health Partners Pediatrics. Meredith’s passion for working with children is evident: “One of the best parts of my job is getting to know my patients and their families and watching them grow. I love the relationship I develop with each family.”
