In February, recognized as Heart Month, it’s inspiring to spotlight Beating Hearts Inc., a remarkable 501(c)(3) charity. This organization was founded by Joe DiVincenzo, a leading Sales Producer and the 2023 recipient of FRP’s Producer Impact Award in Employee Benefits, who is part of Eagle Rock Management Group, A Foundation Risk Partners Company based in Camden, New Jersey.
Beating Hearts Inc. was born from a personal journey of Joe and his wife Paula, whose son, Joey Anthony DiVincenzo, was born in October 2023 with a congenital heart defect: Coarctation of the Aorta (CoA) and a Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD). At just ten days old, Joey underwent critical open-heart surgery. Thanks to exceptional medical care, and the unwavering dedication of his parents, Joey made a full recovery within three months.
Joe recounts that CoA is frequently diagnosed weeks after birth, as the condition worsens, often leaving parents in a state of distress. “Our family is fortunate to have excellent insurance,” Joe stated. “Understanding that many families lack adequate insurance or the financial resources for such essential surgery, Paula and I established Beating Hearts to offer support.”
Beating Hearts Inc. is dedicated to providing vital financial aid to families facing the challenges of children with CoA. Furthermore, the charity contributes funds quarterly to hospitals, specifically allocated for coarctation treatment and families in need. Notably, Beating Hearts Inc.’s inaugural contribution of $10,000 will be directed to Children’s Masonic Hospital in Minnesota this February, benefiting a family requiring assistance.
