Aer Lingus Partners Expand Transatlantic Reach with New Summer 2022 Routes

As travel enthusiasts eagerly plan their next getaways, the Atlantic Joint Business (AJB), including Aer Lingus and its partners, has announced a range of exciting new routes between Europe and North America for Summer 2022. The Atlantic Joint Business, a powerhouse partnership initiated in 2010, brings together major airlines including American Airlines, British Airways, Iberia, Finnair, LEVEL, and since 2021, Aer Lingus. Aer Lingus Strengthens Atlantic Joint Business with New Manchester Routes

Aer Lingus, the newest member to join the Atlantic Joint Business, is playing a significant role in this expansion. From its burgeoning base in Manchester, UK, Aer Lingus has launched two brand-new transatlantic routes, providing direct access to key North American destinations:

Manchester to New York (JFK): Launched on December 1st and operating year-round, this route offers daily flights, seven times a week, aboard the modern Airbus A321Neo aircraft. Fares for an economy return start from a competitive £438, including taxes and charges.

Manchester to Orlando: Inaugurated on December 11th and also operating year-round, this route currently runs four times a week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday). Frequency will increase to daily flights from May 2nd, 2022, utilizing the spacious Airbus A330-300. Economy return fares begin at £558, inclusive of taxes and charges.

These new Aer Lingus routes not only bolster the Atlantic Joint Business network but also offer travelers in the North of England direct and convenient options to popular US destinations, bypassing the need to travel via London.

Expanded Route Network Across the Atlantic Joint Business

Beyond Aer Lingus’s exciting additions, other Atlantic Joint Business partners are also introducing new and returning routes, further enriching the transatlantic travel landscape:

American Airlines:

  • Charlotte to Rome: Starting April 5th, 2022, and running until October 29th, 2022, American Airlines will operate daily flights between Charlotte and Rome using Boeing 777-200 aircraft. Fares begin from $1,168 USD or 969€.

British Airways:

  • Heathrow to Portland: Commencing June 3rd, 2022, British Airways will fly five times a week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday) from Heathrow to Portland, Oregon, utilizing Boeing 787-8 aircraft. Return fares in World Traveller (economy) start from £499.
  • Heathrow to Pittsburgh (Returning Service): Also starting June 3rd, 2022, British Airways is reintroducing flights to Pittsburgh, operating four times a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday) with Boeing 787-8 aircraft. Economy return fares from £449.

Finnair:

  • Helsinki to Dallas: From February 6th, 2022, to October 30th, 2022, Finnair will connect Helsinki and Dallas four times a week (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday) with Airbus A350 aircraft. Fares start from 729€.
  • Helsinki to Seattle: Operating from June 1st, 2022, to October 29th, 2022, Finnair will fly to Seattle three times a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) using Airbus A330 aircraft. Fares from 779€.

LEVEL:

  • Barcelona to Los Angeles: Starting March 28th, 2022, LEVEL will offer four weekly flights (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday) between Barcelona and Los Angeles with Airbus A330-200 aircraft. Fares begin at 429€.

Iberia:

Iberia will be increasing flight frequencies on several popular routes from Madrid to North America between April and October, including routes to New York, Miami, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Juan de Puerto Rico, and Mexico.
