Virgin Australia will adopt SabreMosaic, Sabre’s new AI-driven platform, becoming the flagship customer for this technology. This collaboration marks a significant step for Virgin Australia in enhancing its customer offerings and solidifying its position as an innovator in the aviation industry.

This partnership builds upon a long-standing relationship between Virgin Australia and Sabre, leveraging Sabre’s cutting-edge technology to transform Virgin Australia’s retailing capabilities. SabreMosaic is designed as a revolutionary platform to enable airlines to move towards modern retailing practices based on offers and orders, enhancing personalization and dynamic travel experiences for passengers.

This collaboration marks the beginning of a new era, as SabreMosaic is now available to airlines worldwide.”

David Hogarth, Chief Information Officer of Virgin Australia, echoed this sentiment, “We are excited to partner with Sabre to lead the industry in modern airline retailing. This partnership supports our mission of being Australia’s most loved airline by offering our customers choice and a wonderful guest experience. The SabreMosaic platform will over time enable us to optimize our offers, enhance guest interactions, and build a competitive advantage in the market.”

Virgin Australia’s Modern Retailing Journey with SabreMosaic

Virgin Australia’s adoption of SabreMosaic will be implemented in phases over the coming years, incorporating over 40 products across the entire retailing lifecycle. The modular design of SabreMosaic allows Virgin Australia to operate in a hybrid environment, ensuring a smooth transition to a full Offer and Order system.

The airline has already begun integrating SabreMosaic Air Price IQ and SabreMosaic Ancillary IQ, which are part of the Offer Management suite. These tools are crucial for creating a more personalized and dynamic retailing experience for Virgin Australia’s customers. This move demonstrates Virgin Australia’s commitment to leveraging advanced technology to improve its services and customer satisfaction.

In addition to adopting SabreMosaic, Virgin Australia has extended its existing agreements with Sabre for airline IT and Global Distribution System (GDS) services. This expanded, long-term distribution agreement ensures that Virgin Australia’s content, including both traditional EDIFACT and future New Distribution Capability (NDC) content, will continue to be available to Sabre’s extensive network of travel buyers globally. Virgin Australia will also continue to utilize SabreSonic PSS and related solutions as it progresses towards an Offer and Order environment.

Leveraging Google’s AI capabilities, SabreMosaic also includes a robust Data Intelligence toolkit. This toolkit empowers airlines to make informed, data-driven decisions, further enhancing their operational efficiency and customer understanding.
