Earning SkyMiles and Medallion Status on Cape Air Flights
Just like with Delta-marketed flights, SkyMiles members can accumulate miles on eligible Cape Air flights and progress towards higher Medallion Status. It’s crucial to ensure your SkyMiles number is added to your reservation before you fly. This simple step guarantees that your well-earned miles are automatically credited to your account after your trip.
To qualify for mileage accrual, remember these key points:
- Booking Channels: Flights must be booked through delta.com or any official Delta sales channel.
- Ticket Stock: Your electronic ticket for eligible Cape Air flights must be issued on Delta (006) ticket stock.
- SkyMiles Number: Include your SkyMiles account number in your Delta reservation record during booking.
If you happen to miss adding your SkyMiles number before your journey, don’t worry. You can still request retroactive credit within 9 months of completing your flight. However, adding it beforehand ensures a seamless and automatic crediting process. Remember, mileage is credited to the traveler’s SkyMiles account, regardless of who purchased the ticket, and each member earns individual mileage credit.
Mileage Accrual Rates for Cape Air Flights
For Cape Air-marketed flights (identified by flight numbers starting with the “9K” airline code) and Delta-ticketed flights (ticket number beginning with “006”), SkyMiles earning is based on the ticket price. You’ll earn 5 miles per U.S. Dollar spent, including the base fare and carrier-imposed surcharges, excluding government taxes and fees.

- Silver Medallion Members: Earn a bonus of 2 miles per dollar, totaling 7 miles per dollar.
- Gold Medallion Members: Earn an additional 3 miles per dollar, for a total of 8 miles per dollar.

Earning Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQDs)
In addition to miles, SkyMiles members also earn Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQDs) on eligible Cape Air flights. MQDs are earned based on the same rules as Delta-marketed flights. This means the MQDs you earn are the total amount you spend on Delta-marketed flights (flight numbers starting with “DL”), including base fare and carrier surcharges, but excluding government-imposed taxes and fees. Flights Not Eligible for Mileage Accrual
Please note that certain tickets are not eligible for mileage accrual on Cape Air flights. These include:
