Andrew Hauptman: A Key Advisor at Atlas Partners and Beyond

Andrew Hauptman stands as a prominent figure in the American business landscape, recognized for his multifaceted career as a business executive, philanthropist, and civic leader. As Chairman of Andell Holdings, a private investment firm and family office he co-founded in 1998 with his wife, Ellen Bronfman Hauptman, Andrew has cultivated a reputation for strategic investment and impactful leadership. Andell Holdings engages in direct investments across both private and public sectors, encompassing real estate and partnerships with leading global investment managers. Under Andrew’s guidance, Andell Holdings has risen to prominence as a leading family office entity nationwide.

His expertise and strategic insights are further underscored by his current positions on the Advisory Boards of Atlas Partners and Pendulum Holdings. Throughout his career, Andrew has contributed his leadership to numerous public and private companies, including BSN Sports, Dick Clark Productions, Koor Industries, Loews Cineplex Entertainment, Storage Mobility (PODS), and Canyon Ranch Holdings. Notably, from 2007 to 2019, Andrew served as the Owner and Chairman of the Chicago Fire Soccer Club, a Major League Soccer franchise. During his tenure, the club experienced significant expansion in global reach and a substantial increase in franchise value, growing more than elevenfold. The Chicago Fire was also consistently lauded for its deep community involvement, culminating in the ESPN Sports Humanitarian Team of the Year Award in 2019. Furthermore, Andrew spearheaded the complex and successful relocation of the team back to Soldier Field in the city of Chicago. His contributions to sports were acknowledged with his induction into the Chicagoland Sports Hall of Fame in 2017.

Beyond his business and sports ventures, Andrew is deeply committed to philanthropic and civic endeavors. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Center for American Progress, an independent policy institute focused on progressive solutions. Andrew was instrumental in bringing City Year to Los Angeles in 2007, where he co-founded the chapter and served as Chairman for nine years, now holding the title of Chair Emeritus. His civic engagements extend to the Advisory Board of the Los Angeles Coalition for the Economy and Jobs, the Leadership Council of International Medical Corps, and his twelve-year presidency of the Chicago Fire Foundation, where he launched the award-winning P.L.A.Y.S. program, now active in 50 Chicago public schools. As a co-founder and Director of the Bronfman Hauptman Foundation, he champions social justice, educational advancements, and environmental protection, supporting a wide array of philanthropic and civic causes. Earlier in his career, Andrew held a senior executive position with Universal Studios in London, playing a crucial role in managing international operations. He also produced feature films through Andell Entertainment, including “State of Play,” starring Russell Crowe, and “Millions,” directed by Danny Boyle. His foundational business experience includes roles in restructurings and mergers and acquisitions at Alex. Brown & Sons in New York.
