Partners in Safety aims to create direct lines of communication, ensuring that your concerns and innovative ideas are heard and considered. We recognize that local insights are invaluable in creating safer roadways for everyone.
Our dedication to improving road safety is channeled through two primary programs: the Alaska Highway Safety Office (AHSO) and the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP). AHSO concentrates on influencing safe driver behaviors, offering resources such as child car seat safety checks and promoting seat belt use. HSIP, on the other hand, focuses on infrastructure enhancements, funding engineering projects like guardrail installations and crosswalk improvements.
We kicked off our Partners in Safety initiative with a successful event in Anchorage on September 18, 2024, and are looking forward to our next gathering in Juneau on February 27, 2025. Our commitment extends across the state, with planned visits to communities including Bethel, Delta Junction, Sitka, and Utqiagvik throughout 2025. Our ambition is to connect with every metropolitan area and as many regional hubs as possible, fostering a statewide dialogue on road safety.
Your input is crucial to the success of Partners in Safety. We invite you to take a moment to complete our community survey and share your valuable feedback about road safety in your area. New survey links will be regularly updated as we progress across Alaska.

Join Us in Juneau: Community Survey and Open House
We are excited to announce that Partners in Safety is coming to Juneau! We will be hosting a community open house on Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the University of Alaska Southeast Rec Center. This open house is a valuable opportunity to learn more about the Partners in Safety program and, most importantly, to share your perspectives on road safety within your community.
In advance of the open house, we encourage all Juneau residents to participate in our Juneau road safety survey: Juneau road safety survey. This is your platform to voice your experiences and concerns about local roads and intersections, and to suggest potential solutions to enhance safety. The survey results will be shared and discussed at the public open house on February 27, ensuring your voice directly informs our safety initiatives.
