Meet Tom: The Visionary Co-Founder Behind ROR Partners

Tom stands as a highly accomplished business owner and leader, bringing over 25 years of profound expertise in digital marketing to Ror Partners, which he co-founded. His career is marked by a series of successful ventures, including his role as CEO and founder of multiple digital media firms, showcasing his entrepreneurial drive and deep industry knowledge.

Before his pivotal role at ROR Partners, Tom served as the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) at 24 Hour Fitness. In this executive leadership position, he spearheaded the company’s comprehensive marketing strategies, media engagements, advertising sales, and digital initiatives, demonstrating his capability to manage large-scale marketing operations effectively.

Tom’s entrepreneurial journey includes founding ClubCom, which under his leadership, became the world’s largest operator of digital media and marketing networks within health clubs. His strategic vision led to the successful sale of ClubCom to Amer Sports Corporation in 2004. Following the acquisition, Tom continued to lead ClubCom as CEO under Amer Sports and further navigated its sale to Zoom Media in 2008. His tenure at Zoom Media saw him not only continue as CEO of ClubCom but also expand his responsibilities to President of Zoom’s local advertising sales division, highlighting his versatile leadership and business acumen. Notably, Tom’s entrepreneurial success extends beyond ClubCom; he also sold two additional advertising technology companies to Amer and Zoom in 2006 and 2009 respectively, cementing his reputation as a serial entrepreneur and innovator in the advertising technology space.

Prior to his ventures in digital media, Tom founded Strive, a leading manufacturer of commercial fitness and physical rehabilitation equipment. He successfully sold Strive in 1997. His involvement in the fitness industry further includes co-founding Strive Fitness centers, demonstrating a broad understanding of the fitness market from equipment manufacturing to fitness center operations. Earlier in his career, Tom honed his analytical and strategic skills as a corporate and intellectual property litigation attorney at Reed Smith, a renowned international law firm, providing him with a robust legal foundation that complements his business expertise.

Tom’s innovative spirit is evidenced by his numerous United States & European Patents in digital marketing systems, personal media technologies, and fitness equipment. His influence in the advertising industry is further underscored by his role as a founding member of the Outdoor Video Advertising Bureau (now the DPAA). He has also contributed his expertise to various media, marketing, and advertising advisory boards, and has been a thought leader, authoring and featuring in numerous publications focusing on place-based digital media, mobile marketing, and fitness technologies.

Academically, Tom graduated summa cum laude from Washington & Jefferson College with dual degrees in Accounting and Economics. He was recognized by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants as a top accounting scholar in the U.S. and earned the distinction of Capital One Academic All-American. His athletic achievements include being a two-time GTE All-American in wrestling. Tom completed his formal education with a Law Degree from the University of Pennsylvania.

Tom, along with his wife Julie, resides in the Pittsburgh, PA area and is the father of four adult children. His extensive background and leadership at ROR Partners positions the company as a forward-thinking entity in the digital marketing landscape.
