Partners Promoting Darts (PPD) is an independent organization that manages remote leagues, remote tournaments, and major dart tournaments. Thanks to CAP Amusement’s full membership with PPD, players can now participate in all these events directly through their CAP Amusement dart boards. This guide outlines how you can get involved in the exciting world of competitive darts through PPD.
Getting Started with Remote Darts
To participate in remote leagues and tournaments, you’ll need to register with Dartstoc. CAP Amusement doesn’t directly manage these events, so head over to www.dartstoc.com for registration and more details on how to play.
The Tournament of Champions (TOC)
PPD’s premier event is the Tournament of Champions (TOC), held annually in Kansas City, MO, typically in October. This prestigious tournament features triples competitions, invitational events, and the highly anticipated TOC Finale.
Qualifying for the TOC Finale
Earning a spot in the TOC Finale requires qualifying at a designated Finale Qualifier event. Access to these qualifiers is granted through vouchers.
Understanding Vouchers
A voucher is your ticket to a TOC Finale Qualifier. To be eligible for a voucher, players must meet specific criteria based on their gameplay statistics:
- Games Played: A minimum of 500 games played.
- Performance Requirements:
- Men: A minimum average of 2.5 MPR (Matches Per Round) or 25 PPD (Points Per Dart).
- Women: A minimum average of 1.65 MPR or 16.5 PPD.
PPD Statistic Requirements
PPD uses specific criteria for calculating PPD and MPR:
- League Play: Statistics are derived from at least 4 matches played in a qualifying league format.
- Game Formats:
- Cricket: Split (Double) Bull required.
- X01: Full (Single) Bull required.
- All games must be Open In/Open Out.
- Game Count: Players need to play at least 3 games of a specific type within each match for those games to contribute to their statistics.
- Singles Leagues: Singles leagues organized by PPD partners are not eligible for statistical tracking.
CAP Amusement Vouchers
CAP Amusement currently holds 8 male and 4 female vouchers. These vouchers will be awarded to M2A Playoff winners who meet the eligibility criteria and intend to use them for the TOC Finale Qualifier. Any remaining vouchers will be distributed to the players with the highest point standings on www.dartstoc.com. So, sharpen your darts and aim for the top!
