This means earning based on ticket price at a rate of 5 miles per U.S. dollar spent, encompassing base fare and carrier-imposed surcharges, but excluding government taxes and fees. Medallion members enjoy bonus miles based on their tier: Silver members earn 7 miles per dollar, Gold earn 8, Platinum earn 9, and Diamond members earn 11 miles per dollar.
Similarly, Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQDs), crucial for achieving Medallion Status, are earned on these Cape Air flights just as they are on Delta-marketed flights. MQD earnings are calculated based on the total spend, including base fare and carrier surcharges, excluding government taxes and fees, according to Delta’s ticketing rules.
Booking and Ticketing Requirements for Cape Air Flights
To ensure mileage accrual, it’s essential to book Cape Air flights through Delta’s official channels, such as delta.com or authorized sales channels. The ticket must be issued by Delta (ticket number starting with “006”). Adding your SkyMiles number to your reservation before traveling ensures automatic mileage credit.
If you forget to add your SkyMiles number during booking, you can request retroactive credit within nine months of completing your flight. Miles are credited to the traveler’s SkyMiles account, regardless of who purchased the ticket.
Important Exclusions and Considerations for Earning Miles
Certain ticket types are ineligible for mileage accrual on Cape Air flights, including bulk fares, consolidator vacation packages, award tickets, and Pay with Miles tickets. Delta Air Lines retains the final authority on interpreting these rules.
