For those who thrive in face-to-face interactions, our in-person drop-in hours provide immediate writing assistance. You can find us at two convenient locations:

For students who prefer the flexibility of online interaction or cannot make it to our physical locations, our online partners hours are the perfect solution. We offer virtual consultations via Zoom, bringing our expertise directly to you, wherever you are.

To access online partners hours, you’ll need to register for a WCOnline account. This simple step allows you to sign up for a slot or drop in during the scheduled times.
How to Connect with Writing Partners: Step-by-Step
Connecting with a Writing Partner is straightforward:
Step 1: WCOnline Registration: Visit yaleuniversity.mywconline.com and register for a new account. Note that this is a separate account from other Yale services like Residential College Writing Tutors or Academic Strategies Mentors.
Step 2: Drop-In or Schedule: For immediate assistance during partners hours, simply drop in either in-person or online via the Zoom link available on WCOnline after registration. Appointments are up to 45 minutes, depending on student demand. You also have the option to schedule an appointment in advance through WCOnline by clicking on any available white box on the schedule page.
For online appointments, after booking, you will receive a confirmation email containing your unique Zoom link to meet with your Writing Partner. If a Writing Partner’s schedule appears open (all white boxes), consider booking with them first to ensure a balanced workload for our team and a fresh perspective for you.
Remember to cancel appointments at least 12 hours in advance if you cannot attend, respecting both the Writing Partners’ time and availability for other students.

Weekly Writing Partners: For ongoing projects and consistent guidance, request a Weekly Writing Partner via this form. This program pairs you with a partner for 1-2 meetings per week throughout the term, ideal for in-depth writing development.
Fellowship Writing Partners: Applying for fellowships or scholarships? Our Fellowship Writing Partners, accessed through this form, provide specialized support for your application essays. They offer reader perspective and insightful questions to strengthen your materials through up to three meetings.
