Steph’s journey in the construction industry began in Texas, where she learned valuable trades alongside her contractor father. This early exposure instilled a strong work ethic and a passion for building. Honing her skills further with a local builder, she gained experience in various aspects of construction, laying the foundation for her future success. In 2017, Steph and her husband, Randy, launched their own venture: Partners By Design Homes.
Randy plays a crucial role in the business, managing their finances, real estate dealings, and providing essential support. Together, they are licensed REALTORS® in Iowa with The Reed Team at RE/MAX Concepts. Their combined experience has garnered numerous accolades, including Steph’s induction into the RE/MAX Hall of Fame in 2017 and Rookie of the Year in 2010.
Steph’s dedication to home building is evident in her leadership roles within the industry. She serves as the Iowa State Representative for the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and actively participates on the boards of both the Iowa State HBA and the Des Moines HBA. She’s a passionate mentor for young women entering the field, advocating for careers in the trades. When not spending time with her family at Iowa State University events, she’s often engaging with youth about career opportunities, attending industry functions, or enjoying a Dr. Pepper.
Steph’s commitment to excellence has earned her prestigious awards, including Builder of the Year and Member of the Year from the Des Moines HBA in 2018. In 2020, she received national recognition as the NAHB Professional Women in Building Member of the Year. Partners By Design Homes, under Steph’s leadership, reflects a commitment to quality craftsmanship, industry involvement, and a genuine passion for building dreams.
