Leading the charge in donations were Dr. Ayman Gheith and Dr. Akram Shhadeh, specialists in vascular & interventional neurology and neuro-critical care. Their generous contribution of $25,000 exemplifies the spirit of the program.
Dr. Shhadeh explained their motivation, stating, “If we don’t help during tough times, we all fail. Our motivation is faith-based. Seeing people in distress compels us to help. This donation aims to alleviate suffering and support our colleagues. To deliver excellent community care, we need healthy and well-cared-for Mission Partners. We wanted to help the healers.”
Echoing this sentiment, Dr. Gheith emphasized the importance of supporting OSF team members: “Our Mission is to provide the best care possible for our patients. If a team member faces difficulties, it can impact their ability to focus on this goal. We must support our OSF family. We treat our patients like family, our colleagues like family, and the OSF HealthCare Ministry like home to provide the best possible care.”
