Optimum Lawsuit: Cable Subscribers Fight Back Over MSG Networks Blackout

Frustrated Optimum subscribers are taking legal action against cable provider Altice USA after a contract dispute led to a blackout of MSG Networks. Milberg Coleman Bryson Phillips Grossman, PLLC, a leading class action law firm, has announced it is pursuing arbitration claims on behalf of over a million Optimum subscribers in New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut.

The blackout began at the start of the new year when Altice USA and MSG Networks failed to reach a new agreement. As a result, Optimum customers lost access to popular regional sports channels, including live games of the New York Knicks, New York Rangers, New York Islanders, and New Jersey Devils. Subscribers report that instead of live sports, they are met with a message stating MSG Networks are no longer available on Optimum.

Despite the removal of these channels, Optimum has continued to charge subscribers the same rates for their packages, even those packages that previously included MSG Networks. This has occurred even after recent price increases for both new and existing customers. Consumers are receiving less content for the same, or even higher, price. The law firm Milberg argues this is unfair and is seeking to represent subscribers who have been financially harmed by this situation.

Gary M. Klinger, Senior Partner at Milberg, and Associate Heather Lopez are leading the legal efforts. Optimum subscribers in the tristate area who believe they have been affected by this MSG Networks blackout are encouraged to contact Milberg to discuss their legal options and potentially join the arbitration claims.

Milberg Coleman Bryson Phillips Grossman, PLLC, has a long history of championing consumer rights and has recovered billions for clients over the past 50 years. They specialize in holding corporations accountable for unfair practices.
