Before joining Jasper Ridge Partners, Greg Ruiz held a prominent position at the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS), the largest public pension fund in the United States. As the head of the Private Equity program at CalPERS, he directed private equity investments across diverse strategies and global markets. During his tenure as the primary decision-maker for this major LP investor, Ruiz oversaw a remarkable growth of nearly 300% in committed capital within the PE program. His professional background also includes experience as a Principal at Altamont Capital Partners, focusing on direct private equity investments, and prior to that, he was with FFL Partners after beginning his career at Goldman Sachs. Ruiz’s academic credentials include an AB from Princeton University and an MBA from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.
