Jim Goettsch’s foundational education includes a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Iowa State University. His early career began in New York City after his military service. He then relocated to Chicago and joined C.F. Murphy Associates, which later evolved into Murphy/Jahn. He dedicated 19 years to this firm, including five as principal in charge of the New York office, gaining invaluable experience before joining Lohan Associates as a design principal in 1992. This move was pivotal in the eventual formation of Goettsch Partners in 2005, where he played a crucial role in guiding the firm’s transition and establishing its current identity.
