Frazier Healthcare Partners has announced the addition of Dr. Susan Weaver as a Senior Advisor in May 2024, marking a significant enhancement to their team. Dr. Weaver brings over 25 years of extensive leadership experience in healthcare services, large health plans, and integrated health systems, making her a valuable asset to Frazier Healthcare Partners and their portfolio companies.

Prior to joining Frazier Healthcare Partners, Dr. Weaver held the position of President and Chief Executive Officer at Kepro, a portfolio company of Apax Partners. She successfully led Kepro until its merger with CNSI, a Carlyle portfolio company, in December 2022, forming Acentra Health. Her leadership at Kepro showcased her ability to drive growth and navigate complex healthcare landscapes. Following the merger, Dr. Weaver also served as an interim CEO for another Apax portfolio company, further demonstrating her versatility and demand in executive leadership roles.

Dr. Weaver’s experience extends to innovative healthcare service companies like C3HealthcareRx, where she served as CEO. C3HealthcareRx focused on delivering in-home medication management and personalized pharmacy services, highlighting Dr. Weaver’s commitment to patient-centric and innovative healthcare solutions.

Her deep understanding of the healthcare payer landscape is evident from her tenure as Chief Medical Officer at Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina. As the CMO of the state’s largest insurer, she spearheaded critical divisions including Health Delivery Redesign and Network Management. Her responsibilities also encompassed Medical Policy, medical expense strategy, disease management and wellness programs, network quality and performance, quality improvement accreditation, and appeals and grievances. This broad scope of responsibilities underscores her comprehensive expertise in healthcare operations and strategy.

Earlier in her career, Dr. Weaver held executive positions at WakeMed Health & Hospitals, including Executive Vice President of Medical Affairs and Physician Practices. This experience in integrated health systems further solidifies her well-rounded perspective on healthcare delivery.

Dr. Weaver’s academic credentials include a BS in Psychology and an MD from Duke University School of Medicine. She completed her residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and is board-certified in Internal Medicine, holding a fellowship with the American College of Physicians. Her clinical background enriches her business acumen, providing a unique perspective on healthcare investments and operations within Frazier Healthcare Partners.

Beyond her executive roles, Dr. Weaver is an active board member. She currently serves as a Director for Addus Homecare, a homecare services company, and AdaptHealth Corp, a home medical equipment company, both publicly traded on Nasdaq. She also continues to serve on the Board of Directors for Acentra Health. Her prior board service includes privately held healthcare companies and non-profit organizations, demonstrating her commitment to the broader healthcare community. Notably, she is a founding member and former Executive Director of Alliance Medical Ministry, a non-profit providing medical care to the uninsured in Wake County, North Carolina.
