Foster + Partners Design State-of-the-Art Production Studios for PGA TOUR

The PGA TOUR has officially unveiled its cutting-edge production studios, a significant addition to its Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida campus. This state-of-the-art facility is set to revolutionize the way the TOUR creates and distributes content to golf enthusiasts worldwide.

Strategically located south of THE PLAYERS Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass, the new studio building is adjacent to the PGA TOUR headquarters, a building also conceived by the globally renowned architectural firm Foster + Partners. Completed in 2021, the headquarters’ design ethos is clearly echoed in the new studio. The studio building, designed by Foster + Partners, features prominent colonnades on its south and east sides and a substantial overhanging roof. These architectural elements not only provide shade to the interior spaces but also contribute to the visual harmony between the studio and the headquarters. Expansive glazing on the south and east facades offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape and water features.

A thoughtfully designed landscaped pathway seamlessly connects the new studio with the headquarters. This encourages interaction and allows ease of access to the campus’s top-tier amenities for both employees and visitors. The consistent use of a refined material palette, featuring white metal, concrete, and glass, further reinforces the visual and architectural dialogue between the two buildings, both masterfully designed by Foster + Partners.

Nigel Dancey, Head of Studio at Foster + Partners, commented on the project, highlighting the synergy between the new and existing structures: “PGA TOUR Studios has a strong visual and spatial relationship with the headquarters – with spectacular landscaping and a vast lake connecting the two buildings. The new state-of-the-art studio has been flexibly designed to accommodate the company’s future growth and an ever-changing media landscape.”

The completion of this campus expansion has enabled the PGA TOUR to achieve LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) BD+C Gold certification, a testament to its commitment to sustainable design and operational practices. The campus incorporates various sustainable strategies, focusing on energy conservation, reduction in water usage, and the promotion of enhanced indoor air quality. This achievement underscores Foster + Partners‘ dedication to integrating sustainability into their architectural designs.
