EyeCare Partners LLC continued its commitment to fostering optometric education and collaboration by hosting its second annual Optometry Residency Winter Summit in Key West, Florida. This event, held in conjunction with the EastWest Destinations Conference, brought together optometry residents, residency coordinators, ECP doctors, and alumni from across the EyeCare Partners network for a weekend of learning and professional development.
The summit represented residency programs from several esteemed eye care centers within the EyeCare Partners network, including Bennett & Bloom Eye Centers, Cincinnati Eye Institute, Columbus Ophthalmology Associates, LLC, John-Kenyon Eye Center, and Virginia Eye Consultants. Key West provided an ideal backdrop for attendees to connect, learn, and engage in enriching discussions.
Five experienced ECP doctors, Dawn Hartman, Erich Hinel, Christopher D Riemann, MD, Walter Whitley, and Mary Beth Yackey, played a pivotal role in the summit’s educational program. Eleven OD residents actively participated, contributing to the conference through lectures, interactive round table discussions, and insightful case poster presentations.
A highlight of the summit was the presentation by Dr. Yackey and Dr. Riemann, who shared their two-decade-long working relationship as retina specialists at Cincinnati Eye Institute. Their discussion underscored the critical importance and mutual benefits of a collaborative approach between optometry and ophthalmology – a cornerstone of EyeCare Partners LLC’s clinically integrated model, ultimately enhancing patient care.
EyeCare Partners extends its gratitude to Tarsus Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and Cheri Andler, O.D., for their ongoing support of the collaborative optometry residency educational program. Their contributions are instrumental in sharing advancements in ocular health management with ECP’s network of doctors.
The success of the Optometry Residency Winter Summit reflects the dedication and collaborative spirit within EyeCare Partners LLC. The organization proudly acknowledges the hard work of Kim Rudolphi and everyone involved in planning and executing this valuable event, and especially commends the OD residents for their outstanding representation of EyeCare Partners.
