These strategic promotions recognize significant contributions to the firm’s success and underscore Dune’s commitment to nurturing talent and reinforcing its leadership in the competitive real estate market.
Alexander Chan has been promoted to Managing Director from Director within the Investments team and has also been appointed to the Dune Investment Committee. This elevation highlights Mr. Chan’s expertise and increasing role in shaping Dune’s investment strategies. Monica Scieszka has been promoted from Vice President to Director on the Investments team, reflecting her growing responsibilities and valuable contributions to sourcing and executing investment opportunities.
Further strengthening its operational framework, Paul McLaughlin has been promoted from Manager – Portfolio Analytics to Vice President in the Finance and Accounting group. Mr. McLaughlin’s promotion acknowledges his critical role in portfolio analysis and financial decision-making. Joshua Hassid has also been recognized for his contributions to the Investments team, moving from Associate to Vice President. Mr. Hassid’s promotion reflects his increasing involvement in evaluating and managing Dune’s real estate investments.

Alexander Chan, Managing Director. In his role as Managing Director and a member of the Investment Committee at Dune Real Estate Partners, Alexander Chan is pivotal in identifying and assessing new investment prospects. He is also deeply involved in implementing value creation strategies across the firm’s portfolio. Before joining Dune Real Estate Partners in 2022, Mr. Chan served as a Vice President at QuadReal. His extensive experience also includes a decade at Angelo Gordon, where he concentrated on acquisitions and asset management in the Western U.S. Mr. Chan’s early career includes Berkeley Partners, a firm specializing in light industrial real estate. He holds dual Bachelor’s degrees from the University of Pennsylvania: a B.S. in Economics from The Wharton School and a B.A. in International Studies and Russian from the College of Arts and Sciences. Mr. Chan is also an alumnus of the prestigious Huntsman Program in International Studies and Business.

Monica Scieszka, Director. Monica Scieszka plays a key role in Dune Real Estate Partners’ investment activities, focusing on sourcing, analyzing, and structuring new investment opportunities. She is also instrumental in developing and executing value enhancement strategies. Prior to joining Dune Real Estate Partners in 2019, Ms. Scieszka was an Associate at Walton Street Capital, where she focused on commercial real estate acquisitions. Ms. Scieszka graduated with High Distinction from The University of Michigan – Ross School of Business, earning a B.B.A in 2016.

Paul McLaughlin, Vice President. As Vice President, Paul McLaughlin is central to the financial operations at Dune Real Estate Partners. His primary responsibilities include the quarterly valuation of fund investments and providing crucial portfolio analytics that guide fund-level decisions for senior management. Before joining Dune Real Estate Partners in 2019, Mr. McLaughlin was a Consultant at Deloitte, specializing in real estate valuation, advising clients on investment management and risk reduction. His background also includes project management at Blue Sunsets LLC, focusing on real estate portfolio investment returns. Mr. McLaughlin earned an M.B.A. from Georgetown University in 2015 and a B.A. in Mathematics from the College of the Holy Cross in 2011.

Joshua Hassid, Vice President. Joshua Hassid is deeply involved in the investment process at Dune Real Estate Partners, responsible for evaluating, underwriting, and leading due diligence for potential investments. He also contributes to executing business plans and value creation strategies for existing investments. Before joining Dune Real Estate Partners in 2021, Mr. Hassid held various investment roles at Kennedy Wilson (NYSE: KW), a global real estate investment company. He holds a B.S. in Real Estate Development from the University of Southern California, awarded in 2017.
