Unlock SkyMiles Rewards with Delta’s Cape Air Partnership

Delta Air Lines SkyMiles members have even more opportunities to boost their miles and Medallion Status through an exciting partnership with Cape Air. This collaboration allows SkyMiles members to earn valuable rewards on select Cape Air flights, enhancing the benefits of the SkyMiles program for travelers across key routes. If you’re looking to maximize your SkyMiles earnings, understanding this partnership is key.

Earning SkyMiles and MQDs on Cape Air Flights

This partnership focuses on specific Cape Air flights strategically important to Delta’s network. SkyMiles members can accumulate miles and Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQDs) on Cape Air flights arriving at or departing from the following airports:

  • Boston Logan International (BOS)
  • San Juan, PR (SJU)
  • St. Thomas, USVI (STT)
  • St. Croix, USVI (STX)
  • Billings, MT (BIL)

To ensure you earn miles and MQDs, flights must be purchased through Delta channels. This means booking directly via delta.com or any Delta authorized sales channel. Crucially, these eligible Cape Air flights are operated and marketed by Cape Air but must be ticketed by Delta, indicated by the Delta (006) ticket stock.

Earning miles on these Cape Air flights mirrors the standard SkyMiles earning structure for Delta-marketed flights. Members earn miles based on the ticket price, calculated at a rate of 5 miles per U.S. Dollar (USD) spent. This includes the base fare and carrier-imposed surcharges, but excludes government-imposed taxes and fees.

Furthermore, Medallion members receive bonus miles based on their status, accelerating their earnings:

  • Silver Medallion: Earn a total of 7 miles per dollar (2 bonus miles).
  • Gold Medallion: Earn a total of 8 miles per dollar (3 bonus miles).
  • Platinum Medallion: Earn a total of 9 miles per dollar (4 bonus miles).
  • Diamond Medallion: Earn a total of 11 miles per dollar (6 bonus miles).

Just like with Delta flights, these eligible Cape Air flights also allow you to earn MQDs, contributing towards achieving or maintaining Medallion Status. MQDs are earned based on your spending on Delta-ticketed flights, following the same rules as Delta-marketed flights.

Important Ticketing and Credit Information

To guarantee automatic mileage credit, it’s essential to add your SkyMiles number to your reservation before traveling. This can be done during the booking process on delta.com or through a Delta authorized sales channel.

In the event that your SkyMiles number was not included before your flight, you can still request retroactive credit. This request must be made within 9 months of completing your travel. You can submit a retroactive credit request through the Delta Air Lines website.

It’s important to note that certain tickets are not eligible for mileage accrual on Cape Air flights. These exclusions include:

  • Bulk fare products
  • Consolidator vacation or tour package fares
  • Award Tickets
  • Pay with Miles tickets

Mileage is credited to the SkyMiles account of the individual traveler, regardless of who purchased the ticket. SkyMiles accounts cannot be pooled or combined; each member earns individual mileage credit for their own travel.

Maximize Your SkyMiles with Partner Flights

The Delta Skymiles Partnership with Cape Air provides a valuable opportunity for SkyMiles members to earn miles and MQDs on a broader network of flights. By booking eligible Cape Air flights through Delta channels and ensuring your SkyMiles number is included in your reservation, you can seamlessly increase your rewards and progress towards higher Medallion Status. Always refer to the official Delta SkyMiles program rules for the most up-to-date information and any changes to partner agreements.
