Earning miles with Delta car rental partners is a valuable perk for frequent travelers. Earning SkyMiles on Qualifying Car Rentals

SkyMiles members earn two miles per eligible US dollar (or equivalent foreign currency) spent on the base car rental rate. This applies to bookings made through delta.com/cars. To qualify, the rental must meet specific criteria.

Qualifying Rental Criteria

A qualifying rental includes bookings:

  • Made at participating locations.
  • For one or more days.
  • At rates excluding travel industry discounts, wholesale or tour package rates, insurance/dealer replacement rates, corporate and government rates, group travel discounts, frequent flyer car awards, and other specific corporate agreements.

Important Note: Taxes, fees, incidental charges, and discounts redeemed using vouchers or codes are excluded from mileage calculations. Only the base car rental rate before taxes and fees is considered for mileage accrual. The standard mileage offer calculation may vary depending on the car rental company.

Ensuring Proper Mileage Credit

To ensure you receive your miles, follow these guidelines:

  • Matching Names: The name on the credit card used for the reservation must match the name on your SkyMiles account.
  • SkyMiles Number: Provide your SkyMiles number during booking. Only one SkyMiles number is allowed per reservation.
  • Completed Rentals: Miles are awarded only for completed and paid rentals. Cancelled, no-show, or unpaid reservations are not eligible.
  • Timeframe for Mileage Posting: Allow up to eight weeks after your rental completion for miles to appear in your SkyMiles account.

Addressing Missing Mileage Credit

If you haven’t received your miles within eight weeks, contact Delta Air Lines through their website and navigate to: Request Refund or Miles > Mileage Credit > Partners. Requests for missing mileage credit are accepted up to six months from the rental’s last day.

Exclusions and Limitations

Certain rentals and rates are excluded from earning SkyMiles:

  • Rentals booked before SkyMiles enrollment.
  • Special contracted corporate or promotional rates (e.g., employee, net tour, travel agent, group, wholesale, package, crew, insurance/dealer replacement, or non-revenue rentals).
  • Multiple rentals with different cars on the same or consecutive days from the same location are considered a single qualifying rental.

Miles earned through car rentals are considered bonus miles and do not contribute towards Million Miler Status or, unless specifically stated in a limited-time offer, Medallion Qualification Dollars.
