Following a virtual assembly on Friday, December 17, the Little League® International Board of Directors welcomed Robert Gauntt, a seasoned investment and wealth management expert and founding partner at Capital Creek Partners, as its newest at-large director.
“On behalf of the entire Little League International Board of Directors, we are thrilled to welcome Robert to our board. We anticipate leveraging his professional acumen and extensive background as a Little League volunteer to further enrich and strengthen the Little League program,” stated Hugh E. Tanner, Chairman of the Little League International Board of Directors. “Robert’s passion for Little League has grown immensely since his early days as a player, through his roles as coach, manager, and league official. We eagerly await his ongoing contributions in this elevated leadership capacity on our board.”
Mr. Gauntt brings a wealth of experience to the Little League International Board. As the founding partner of Capital Creek Partners, based in Austin, Texas, he leads a prominent multi-family investment firm. Additionally, he is a co-founder and limited partner at Capstar Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm that invests in consumer brands, also located in Austin. Before establishing Capital Creek Partners, Mr. Gauntt co-founded Avalon Advisors in 2001 and remained there until 2018. His career also includes five years with Morgan Stanley’s Private Wealth Management Division, where he played a key role in launching their wealth management operations in the southwest region. From 1991 to 1996, Mr. Gauntt was associated with Goldman Sachs’ Private Wealth Management in Houston and previously worked at Paine Webber Inc. in both London and New York City before earning his MBA from The University of Texas.

“I am deeply honored to serve on the board of one of the world’s most impactful baseball and softball organizations, uniting individuals across diverse backgrounds,” expressed Mr. Gauntt. “Little League imparts crucial life lessons beyond the game itself, emphasizing perseverance, humility, and the vital role of teamwork for success. These are lessons I’ve learned firsthand throughout my Little League and collegiate baseball journey, and I am eager to assist the next generation of Little Leaguers and volunteers in embracing these values.”
Mr. Gauntt’s connection to Little League began as a player at West Side National Little League in Fort Worth, Texas. His sons achieved remarkable success in Senior League, with Travis winning the 2009 Senior League Baseball World Series (SLBWS), Tyler playing in the 2010 SLBWS, and Turner securing back-to-back SLBWS championships in 2014 and 2015. Both Turner (University of Texas) and Travis (TCU) pursued collegiate baseball careers.
