Business Development Manager Role at Capio Partners: Shape the Future of IT Services

As a Business Development Manager at Capio Partners, you will play a pivotal role in driving our continued success. We are looking for a self-starter with a proven track record of success within the California Government IT Services market. Your primary focus will be to cultivate and maintain strong, enduring relationships with prospective clients and strategic business partners. You will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities, actively pursuing sales prospects aligned with customer initiatives, and fostering collaborations with partner organizations. This role requires close collaboration with our proposal development and technical teams, all with the overarching goal of generating increased revenue for Capio Group.

Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Sales Management: Overseeing the sales of our diverse IT service offerings, including Project Management, Custom Application Development, System Configuration & Integration, Data Management, and Cloud Infrastructure solutions.
  • Opportunity Capture: Managing the entire opportunity capture lifecycle. This includes actively maintaining and expanding opportunity pipelines through vendor lists and procurement portals, and efficiently qualifying and reviewing solicitations and other business opportunities.
  • Lead Generation and Management: Proactively identifying and nurturing new leads by leveraging your existing network and actively seeking opportunities to expand it. Developing strong relationships with both customers and business partners is crucial for sourcing and generating viable business opportunities.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Evaluating and advising on potential joint ventures and partnerships with other companies to expand our market reach and service offerings.
  • Contract Negotiation and Closure: Contributing to the successful closure of contracts that ensure sustained revenue growth for Capio Partners.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Working closely with Proposals, Recruitment, Branding, and Management teams to collaboratively plan and execute revenue-enhancing strategies.
  • Industry Expertise: Staying abreast of the latest industry trends and actively building and maintaining strategic industry partnerships.

What We Are Looking For: Your Skills and Experience

To thrive in this Business Development Manager role and contribute to the success of Capio Partners careers, candidates must possess the following mandatory experience:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of demonstrable experience in California IT government sales, either in a buyer or seller capacity.
  • At least two (2) years of direct involvement in California IT government procurement processes.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in leading and managing teams.
  • An extensive network of prospective buyers within the California government IT services sector.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and familiarity with productivity suites, Google Workspace preferred, MS Office acceptable.
  • Comfort and confidence in representing Capio Group at industry events, committees, and client/vendor meetings.

Desirable experience includes:

  • Ten (10) years of experience within the Government Information Technology sector, specifically with the State of California.
  • Two (2) years of experience as an Account Manager or Technical Manager serving State of California government organizations.
  • Two (2) years of experience focused on lead generation and business development activities.
  • Two (2) years of experience conducting research on prospective clients and business partners.
  • Two (2) years of responsible project management experience overseeing large-scale IT projects.
