Your Partners in Internal Medicine: Managing Your Healthcare

As your dedicated healthcare providers, we at Income Partners Internal Medicine are committed to ensuring you receive the best possible care. We understand that managing your health involves more than just doctor visits, which is why we strive to be your reliable partners in navigating all aspects of your medical journey. This guide outlines important information regarding our practice policies to help you effectively manage your healthcare needs with us.

Prescription Refills: A Streamlined Process

To ensure timely access to your medications, please allow 24 hours for all prescription refills. The most efficient way to request a refill is to contact your pharmacy directly. Ask them to electronically transmit the refill request to our office or fax it to your doctor’s designated fax number. This process allows the pharmacy to provide us with all necessary details to promptly process your refill.

Please note that prescriptions for controlled substances requiring a New York State special prescription cannot be renewed over the phone. These prescriptions must be physically picked up at our office. We strongly encourage you to proactively manage your medication supply, ensuring you have sufficient medication on hand for nights, weekends, and holidays to avoid any interruptions in your treatment.

In Case of Emergencies and Hospitalizations

In the event of a life-threatening emergency, your immediate priority should be to call 911 or proceed to the nearest emergency room for urgent care. Once you are receiving emergency care, please have the hospital staff notify our office or the physician on call, so we can be informed and involved in your care as needed.

It’s important to be aware that many insurance plans mandate prior approval for emergency room visits. To avoid potential issues with coverage, please contact our office before seeking emergency room services if the situation allows and is not a genuine emergency.

Should you require hospitalization, our physicians admit patients to the esteemed UR Medicine hospitals, including Strong Memorial Hospital and Highland Hospital. We have established a strong partnership with the Hospitalist Services at both of these hospitals to ensure seamless and coordinated care during your hospital stay.

Billing and Payment Procedures

Co-payments for office visits are expected at the time of your appointment. For your convenience, we accept payments in the form of cash, personal checks, and credit cards. Additionally, you have the option to pay your hospital or physician bills online through our secure Pay a Bill portal.

You will receive a bill for any medical services that are not covered by your insurance plan. If you have any questions or require clarification regarding your bill, please do not hesitate to call the phone number listed on your statement. Our billing staff will be happy to assist you and address any concerns you may have.

Insurance and Coverage Information

We are pleased to accept a wide range of insurance plans to ensure broad access to our services. Our accepted insurance providers include major carriers such as Excellus Blue Cross-Blue Shield, Preferred Care, Aetna, Medicare, Medicaid, and various others.

It is crucial to keep our office informed of any changes to your insurance coverage. Please remember to bring your current insurance card with you to each appointment. This allows us to accurately update your records with the new insurance information printed on your card, ensuring smooth and accurate billing processes.

We firmly believe that financial constraints should never be a barrier to receiving necessary medical care. We are dedicated to providing excellent healthcare to everyone in our community. For individuals facing financial hardship and struggling to manage medical bills, we offer financial assistance programs. If you believe you may qualify for assistance, please reach out to our customer service staff at (585) 758-7650 or call our toll-free number 1-888-925-4301 for out-of-area inquiries. We are here to support you as your partners in health and are ready to help you navigate your healthcare journey.
