Beyond HEAP: Emergency Assistance with Downeast Community Partners

Downeast Community Partners understands that heating emergencies can arise. Even after HEAP benefits are used, additional help may be available through the Energy Crisis Intervention Program (ECIP). ECIP funds can supplement HEAP in urgent situations when you are facing a heating crisis.

To qualify for ECIP through Downeast Community Partners, you must:

  • Have below 1/4 tank of oil or kerosene.
  • Have 7 days or less supply of wood or wood pellets.
  • Have 25% or below supply of LP gas.
  • Be facing imminent electricity disconnection.

ECIP can provide a one-time emergency heating assistance of up to $800 in life-threatening situations for current HEAP recipients. Downeast Community Partners is here to support you through these critical times.

If you do not qualify for HEAP or have exhausted both HEAP and ECIP benefits, Downeast Community Partners still offers support through The Heating And Warmth (THAW) fund. You can learn more about the THAW fund and other assistance programs on the Downeast Community Partners website.
