Key Responsibilities at ArrowMark Partners

As a Commercial Real Estate Investment Analyst at ArrowMark Partners, you will collaborate closely with senior investment professionals on the full lifecycle of commercial real estate (CRE) investments. Your primary focus will be supporting our expanding commercial mortgage lending business. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of critical tasks, including:

  • Underwriting and Investment Analysis: Conduct thorough deal underwriting and investment analysis across all commercial property types. This involves detailed financial modeling, market research, and fundamental analysis to assess investment opportunities.
  • Deal Summaries and Investment Memorandums: Prepare comprehensive deal summaries and investment memorandums that clearly articulate investment rationale, risks, and projected returns for presentation to investment committees.
  • Transaction Structuring and Due Diligence: Assist senior professionals in structuring transactions, managing due diligence processes, and ensuring smooth transaction closings. This includes coordinating with legal counsel, appraisers, and other third-party vendors.
  • Asset and Risk Management: Contribute to the ongoing asset and risk management of the real estate portfolio, monitoring property performance, and identifying potential issues or opportunities.
  • Cash Flow and Property Valuations: Develop sophisticated financial models to estimate property cash flows and valuations, incorporating historical performance, current market conditions, and future projections.
  • Market Research and Fundamental Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research and fundamental analysis to understand property-specific dynamics, competitive landscapes, and broader economic trends impacting real estate investments.
  • Client Relationship Management: Act as a key point of contact for clients, including mortgage brokers, bankers, and borrowers. Manage relationships from initial loan quote through to closing, ensuring clear communication and a high level of service.
  • Origination Conduit Development: Proactively develop and nurture relationships with originators to build a robust deal pipeline and expand ArrowMark Partners’ reach in the market.
  • Transaction Documentation and Negotiation: Participate in the structuring and negotiation of transaction documents, including Letters of Intent (LOIs), term sheets, partnership agreements, and loan documents.
  • Pipeline and Investment Committee Presentations: Present deals and market insights in pipeline meetings, internal deal discussions, and investment committee meetings, demonstrating strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Due Diligence Information Management: Collect, analyze, and meticulously review all due diligence materials required for loan underwriting and closing. This includes rent rolls, operating statements, borrower financial documents, SNDAs, estoppels, tax returns, and bank statements.

ArrowMark Partners seeks a highly qualified Commercial Real Estate Investment Analyst with the following experience and skills:

  • Real Estate Investment Experience: 2-7 years of direct experience in the real estate investment industry, preferably within a leading investment bank, private equity firm, or advisory firm.
  • Real Estate Investment Evaluation: Proven ability to evaluate and manage real estate investments, conduct independent research, and manage comprehensive due diligence and deal underwriting processes.
  • Technical Proficiency: Expertise in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Advanced proficiency in Argus and CoStar is highly desirable. Strong financial modeling skills are essential.
  • Communication and Presentation Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information concisely and persuasively to senior management.
  • Interpersonal and Personal Attributes: Effective interpersonal skills, self-motivation, intellectual curiosity, and a strong desire for continuous learning and professional development. Impeccable attention to detail is paramount.
  • Work Ethic and Time Management: Demonstrated strong work ethic with the ability to effectively multi-task, take initiative, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and thrive under tight deadlines.
  • Capital Markets Experience (Preferred): Established capital markets experience, including existing relationships with real estate sponsors, market intermediaries, and capital partners is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Educational Background: Completion of undergraduate studies is required. CFA and/or MBA qualifications are considered a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

Estimated Base Compensation: The base salary range for this Commercial Real Estate Investment Analyst position is between $85,000 and $110,000 USD annually.

Annual Bonus Opportunity: This role is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on individual, team, and overall company performance.
