SummitStone Health Partners Opens Garcia House: Inpatient Behavioral Health for Co-Occurring Disorders

Summitstone Health Partners is proud to announce the opening of Garcia House, a new 16-bed inpatient behavioral health facility. Named “Garcia House, A Circle Program by SummitStone,” this crucial facility addresses a significant need in Larimer County for individuals requiring treatment for co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders (SUD). Garcia House is a testament to SummitStone’s commitment to providing a comprehensive continuum of care within Northern Colorado, and it is named in honor of Fred Garcia, a local champion in the fight against Substance Use Disorder. Notably, Garcia House is one of only three certified Circle Programs in the state of Colorado.

Garcia House offers a residential treatment setting for up to 16 individuals grappling with the complexities of co-occurring mental health conditions and substance use disorders. This facility is designed to bridge a critical gap in community services, bringing Northern Colorado closer to a complete network of support for adults facing SUD. The duration of stay at Garcia House is tailored to individual medical necessity, potentially extending up to 90 days, with robust aftercare support to ensure a smooth transition and continued recovery.

“Bringing Garcia House to fruition is a moment of immense pride for SummitStone and the entire recovery community,” stated Michael Allen, CEO of SummitStone Health Partners. “Garcia House embodies our dedication to offering evidence-based practices within a nurturing, home-like atmosphere. It’s a place where our patients with the most acute needs can embark on their personal journey of recovery, supported every step of the way.”

Colorado’s Circle Programs, guided and supported by the Department of Human Services, deliver a Medically Monitored Residential Substance Use Treatment level of care. These programs are specifically designed for individuals with co-occurring mental health diagnoses, representing the highest level of care available outside of a hospital setting.

Robert Werthwein, director of the Colorado Department of Human Services, Office of Behavioral Health, expressed his enthusiasm: “We are delighted to celebrate the launch of the third Circle Program in Colorado. Expanding access to this effective treatment model for co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders is vital. It empowers more Coloradans to achieve lasting recovery and lead fulfilling lives.”

Located at 1008 Patton Street in Fort Collins, CO, Garcia House is readily accessible. For inquiries or further information, please contact the facility directly at (970) 494-5729.
