Apercen Partners Employee Spotlight: Meet Emily DuBay, Champion of Partner Support

At Apercen Partners, our strength lies in our exceptional team, and this month we shine a spotlight on Emily DuBay, the linchpin of our Portland office and Executive Assistant to several of our esteemed partners. Emily, who has dedicated over two years to Apercen Partners, was initially drawn to the firm by the palpable kindness she encountered during her interview process.

“It was evident from the start that the Apercen Partners team prioritized not just my technical abilities but also the alignment of my personality and values with Apercen’s core culture. This was a significant factor for me,” Emily recounts. “It assured me that joining Apercen Partners meant working alongside genuinely great individuals. I also openly shared my ambition to achieve my PMP certification, and I was thrilled by the serious consideration given to my professional aspirations.” Emily successfully earned her PMP certification in August, a testament to her dedication and Apercen Partners’ commitment to employee growth.

Emily finds immense pride in her proactive approach to supporting partners and their engagement teams, particularly during peak seasons. “It’s a fantastic opportunity for me to inject some relief and positivity into what can be an incredibly demanding period,” Emily explains. Her support ranges from thoughtful gestures like sending DoorDash treats to tax managers navigating stressful workloads, to organizing team lunches, and strategically optimizing partner schedules to carve out essential review time. “I strive to alleviate the pressure and uplift morale in any way I can. Knowing that even small acts can significantly contribute to maintaining team cohesion and productivity during such intense times is incredibly rewarding.” This dedication to team well-being is a cornerstone of the Apercen Partners ethos.

Kristen Holpuch, Administrative Services Manager at Apercen Partners, lauds Emily’s contributions: “Emily is an outstanding team member, consistently bringing a positive attitude to every task and always willing to lend a hand, regardless of the request. She consistently goes the extra mile, upholding Apercen’s high standards in all her responsibilities. Her commitment and pride in her dual roles as Executive Assistant and Office Manager are unmistakable in her work, and I am truly grateful to have her as part of my team.” This sentiment reflects the collaborative and appreciative environment fostered at Apercen Partners.

Beyond her professional dedication at Apercen Partners, Emily is an avid hiker, embracing trails in all weather conditions. Her hiking adventures span across Europe, and she dreams of retiring in the Alps, dedicating her days to exploring mountain paths. Emily is also passionate about paddle sports, including dragon boat racing, kayaking, and outrigger canoeing. She proudly paddled with the Oregon Women Lawyers Dragon Boat team for seven years, showcasing her team spirit beyond the office. Adding to her vibrant personality, Emily is a beer enthusiast, with a particular fondness for IPAs, and aspires to tour the US, discovering diverse craft breweries. A fun anecdote about Emily? She has attended six Bruce Springsteen concerts, highlighting her zest for life and experiences. Emily’s multifaceted personality and dedication make her an invaluable asset to Apercen Partners, embodying the firm’s commitment to both professional excellence and personal well-being.
