The PGA TOUR has recently launched its advanced production studios situated in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, marking a significant step forward in content creation and delivery for golf enthusiasts worldwide. This state-of-the-art facility is the latest addition to the PGA TOUR campus and stands as a testament to contemporary architectural design spearheaded by the globally acclaimed Norman Foster And Partners.
Strategically located south of THE PLAYERS Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass and adjacent to the PGA TOUR headquarters, the new studio building establishes a cohesive architectural dialogue with its surroundings. Notably, the PGA TOUR headquarters, also a design masterpiece by Norman Foster and Partners completed in 2021, shares a visually harmonious relationship with the new studio. This connection is reinforced through consistent design elements, including prominent colonnades on the south and east sides and a substantial overhanging roof that provides shade to the interior spaces. Expansive glazing on the south and east facades offers panoramic views of the water features and the verdant campus landscape.
A thoughtfully designed landscaped pathway serves as a direct link between the new studio and the headquarters, encouraging interaction and shared access to the campus’s premium amenities for employees and visitors alike. The selection of materials, featuring white metal, concrete, and glass, further solidifies the visual and architectural bond between the two buildings, creating a unified campus aesthetic envisioned by Norman Foster and Partners.
Nigel Dancey, Head of Studio at Foster + Partners, commented on the project, stating, “PGA TOUR Studios has a strong visual and spatial relationship with the headquarters – with spectacular landscaping and a vast lake connecting the two buildings. The new state-of-the-art studio has been flexibly designed to accommodate the company’s future growth and an ever-changing media landscape.” This statement underscores the forward-thinking approach of Norman Foster and Partners in creating spaces that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also functionally adaptable to future needs.
The completion of this campus expansion has enabled the PGA TOUR to achieve LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) BD+C Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. This prestigious certification recognizes the campus’s commitment to sustainable design and operational practices, particularly in energy conservation, water use reduction, and the promotion of enhanced indoor air quality. The PGA TOUR Studios, under the architectural direction of Norman Foster and Partners, not only elevates content production capabilities but also embodies a commitment to environmental responsibility and innovative design.
