Steve’s distinguished career in real estate spans over 30 years, marked by a consistent track record of generating significant returns for investors. His ascent to partner at Midland Development Group in 1995 was rapid, a testament to his early expertise and leadership. Subsequently, as principal of his own firm, he honed his development skills working with prominent national retailers, further solidifying his industry acumen and building a robust professional network.
In 2008, Steve partnered with Bret Caller to co-found Viking Partners, envisioning a premier, value-add private equity real estate investment firm. This strategic alliance capitalized on their combined strengths and industry insights, quickly establishing Viking Partners as a key player in the market.
Leveraging his refined acquisition expertise, strong industry relationships, and financial acumen, Steve has directed Viking’s acquisition of assets exceeding $1 billion and the strategic deployment of capital over $260 million. Under his guidance, Viking Partners has invested in more than 80 real estate projects, encompassing over 9.5 million square feet across retail, office, industrial, and multifamily sectors. These investments span 64 cities and 22 states, showcasing the breadth and depth of Viking’s operational footprint and Steve’s leadership. Deeply rooted in his Cincinnati origins, Steve is committed to giving back to his community. He dedicates considerable time and resources to Cincinnati’s Jewish community and serves as Treasurer on the board of The Boys and Girls Club of Greater Cincinnati, demonstrating his commitment to civic engagement and social responsibility.
