Carol Joy Bender has been a dedicated Nurse Practitioner since 2013, specializing in the innovative fields of regenerative and integrative medicine. At Joy Wellness Partners, she offers a comprehensive spectrum of care, from immediate medical interventions to in-depth medical consultations and advanced regenerative injection therapies. Her unique approach blends cutting-edge medical science with a patient-centered philosophy, making her a sought-after partner in wellness.
Growing up in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Carol’s academic journey reflects her commitment to both health and business. In 2009, she achieved dual Bachelor of Science degrees from the University of Pennsylvania, one in Economics from the prestigious Wharton School of Business and another in Nursing from the esteemed School of Nursing. Even before graduating, Carol’s passion for healthcare extended globally. In 2009, she co-founded LifeNet International, a pioneering non-profit organization establishing sustainable healthcare clinic franchises in Burundi, Africa, demonstrating her early leadership and dedication to impactful healthcare solutions.
From 2009 to 2011, Carol honed her critical care skills as a registered nurse in the fast-paced emergency room at the University Medical Center of Princeton in New Jersey. Her commitment to global health then called her back to Burundi in 2011, where she took on the crucial role of Medical Director for LifeNet International. Leading healthcare initiatives in a challenging environment further solidified her expertise and passion for delivering effective medical solutions.
In 2013, Carol earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania, achieving board certification as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. This advanced qualification enabled her to provide specialized care for a broad range of adult patients, further expanding her capabilities in the medical field.
Between 2013 and 2017, Carol broadened her practical experience working in five different emergency departments across Southern California. She also contributed her expertise to the Temecula Valley Advanced Medicine (TVAM) Clinic in Murrieta, California. It was at TVAM that Carol witnessed firsthand the transformative potential of regenerative medicine in alleviating patient pain and improving lives, sparking a deep interest in this innovative field.
Inspired by the remarkable outcomes she observed and driven by a desire to make regenerative medicine more accessible, Carol leveraged her unique blend of healthcare management acumen, entrepreneurial success with a healthcare startup in Africa, and extensive clinical experience. In 2016, she founded Joy Wellness Partners in San Diego, California. Her vision was clear: to provide patients with lasting solutions through the power of regenerative medicine. Expanding her commitment to comprehensive wellness, she launched Enliven Aesthetics in 2019, further enhancing her ability to meet the diverse aesthetic needs of her growing clientele at Joy Wellness Partners.
