5th Century Partners at the Forefront of Impact Investing Summit

The Summit, in collaboration with the SALA Series, a dynamic platform and community for purpose-driven leaders, fostered an environment ripe for engagement, learning, and the forging of new partnerships. BMO’s continued sponsorship underscored the financial institution’s commitment to these crucial initiatives. I had the distinct privilege of moderating a compelling panel discussion centered on “New approaches to conflict resolution, trauma, and gun violence.” This vital conversation featured insights from prominent figures including Arne Duncan, former U.S. Secretary of Education and Founder and Managing Partner of Chicago CRED, Marshall Hatch Jr., Executive Director of the Maafa Redemption Project, and Curtis Toler, Director of CVI Innovation at Chicago CRED.

Further enriching the Summit were panels addressing critical topics such as “Charting a path forward,” “Improving health equity and healthcare innovation in our time,” and “investing in an uncertain market.” Each session ignited thought-provoking dialogues and offered pathways for collaborative progress. Heartfelt appreciation is extended to Marques Torbert, Bruce Hampton, Jessica Patton, and Jennifer Steans for their exceptional hosting of this impactful event, and to 5CP and SALA Series for their outstanding endeavors and partnership. Collectively, we are dedicated to investing in the communities we serve, striving to enact positive transformation at the grassroots level.
